THE DIGITAL COURSE

We offer the digital course “FROM LITERACY TO DIGITAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL TRAINING”, a structured course, fully compatible with the adult education curriculum, innovative and impactful among the adult population between 18 and 30 years old who left the education system and have not been able to access the labor market. This course proposes the creation of an itinerary adapted to the initial situation of the user, which determines the contents and levels from their previous knowledge and skills through an e-learning platform.

This allows the user to receive a comprehensive training, starting from their initial literacy, and leading them to develop the digital and technological skills necessary for their access to certain jobs in the technology sector; all of this through an education based on scientific thinking and critical analysis.

The STRUCTURED AND PERSONALIZED COURSE FOR THE DIGITAL TRAINING OF ADULT PERSONS: FROM LITERACY TO DIGITAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL TRAINING has very innovative methodologies and contents. Some aspects worth highlighting are its innovation, due to its own conception as a structured course that not only seeks the academic training of adults between 18 and 30 years old or the improvement of their basic knowledge, but also hopes to significantly promote their employability, their inclusion, and their motivation to be active through their participation in a technological and innovative field.

Note that the course planning is absolutely innovative, because far from being static courses with a defined didactic programming, this course generates itineraries adapted to the previous knowledge and abilities of each student, adapting the contents to their real needs. This allows adults with different levels of knowledge to access it, to be trained for certain tasks the field of research, and develop their skills to new levels. This is a construction of a training itinerary that goes from their basic literacy to their technological and digital training, guiding hem from their initial steps to those that will lead them directly to their goal: a job in this sector.

The methodology is based on digital learning through e-learning platforms and interactive tools, as well as collaborative work that encourages the ability to be part of a work team, the promotion of their adaptability capability, the generation of critical thinking by students, and the development of the learning skills that are the key capabilities for the reconversion of these adults towards the industrial sector of R+D.

This course proposes a flexible, adaptable, and virtual educational methodology customized to the needs of the students, and motivates them via interactive tools and its e-learning learning system, tutored not only by adult education teachers, but also also by researchers or experts from the technology sector. In this learning system, the tutor only guides the students with basic instructions to develop the course, being they themselves who resort to the bibliography, experimentation, and collaboration with other participating students.

The proposed methodology promotes the inclusion of all students through a collaborative and practical learning among equals, and an essential pedagogical tool such as critical thinking and the competence of learning to learn. This is about micro e-learning, a proposal based on virtual learning and aimed at the fragmentation of didactic contents through which certain skills are acquired. Learning in this way is generated in small pills (cases) that, although autonomous, are interconnected with the rest to form a broader and deeper knowledge in the long term. It also allows to learn in a shorter time, and can be done at any time and place through a digital device.

All of this will be carried out through a three-level structure (INITIAL-ADVANCED-EXPERT), and personalized contents through synchronous and asynchronous virtual learning and collaborative work.

The course is structured into:

This training course approved by educational institutions will be taught through e-learning platforms. These digital spaces aimed at telematic training are a simple but powerful learning tool, offering educational materials and resources through a digital educational process that adapts to your needs and characteristics, and that you can use at any time from any of your devices.

Redtree has generated an e-learning platform with various courses for the training of adult persons. The entity has put at the service of the project this useful tool that allows the course created to be available to the beneficiary group for free and in a very simple way. But we also expect to include the results on the e-learning platforms available at the lifelong learning centers of NTUA and UMINHO.

An added value of this type of smart, virtual, and telematic platforms is that they have a system capable of defining the user’s profile (prior knowledge, strengths, and weaknesses in their education…) and consequently create a personalized learning strategy and itineraries adapted to their needs.

In the same way, it provides digital tools that allow the establishment of synchronous and asynchronous virtual learning in which the user can have real-time conversations with tutors and peers, and send them messages and files for evaluation. This way we can promote a collaborative learning that generates networks of joint work between very different people, allowing us to offer users new ways for inclusion, and facilitating them to succeed in the proposed educational processes.

Lastly, the e-learning platforms used have an automatic two-way evaluation and accreditation system: on the one hand, the creation of personal certificates that certify the completion of each course, stating the level and itinerary completed; and on the other they generate a series of digital badges -images or icons with specific integrated information about the learning achieved- that can be validated by educational institutions and accreditation platforms. These badges do not just certify in a safe and reliable way the courses completed, regarding the labor and education sector, but also the specific competences in which the user excelled. They are also compatible with the “Europass” European Curriculum system, allowing the user to reinforce their curriculum, and with it their employment opportunities.
